NOX INSTALLER DOES NOTHING 64 BIT
I have a very similar system : an Alienware M17xR4 with Win 7 64 bit Home Premium and a Nvidia GTX 680M GPU (plus an integrated Intel GPU). So for anyone else having this issue whose has two display adapters, you do indeed need to disable the non Intel one in order to play this game apparently, or try to run the game under "window" mode, which is just as much of a pain, since at least for me I have to switch my display into 16 bit color before that will work either. Once I went under the device manager and disabled the nVidia adapter (which I had never done before), the game played fine. My laptop uses both the builtin in Intel HD 4000 of my i7 and an nVidia 640M LE. However, once I read this post, this was indeed my problem. It was so bad that I could not tell where to click to quit the program, and always had to force quit. I kept getting a black screen (no moving video) and then a completely shredded display when it got to the start up screen. Sure enough, I disabled that, so the computer's just running with one card, and voila, it worked game runs perfectly now, cutscenes and all.įar as can tell, there's no way to set it so that it automatically disables when playing Nox, then reenables when you're done, so you just need to remember to handle all that manually, but it's a small price to pay to get this working Yes, I just got Nox as well, and it would not work regardless of what I did. I don't see the specific solution I eventually figured out listed here, so I figured I'd put it up, in case anyone else has this particular issue.īasically, I was having the blank cutscenes and flickering during gameplay none of the solutions I've found did anything for me, but while I was searching through my video card settings, I was reminded that I actually have two video cards, which run together. Randin01: I just bought Nox, and ran into the same problem the OP did. My exact experiences except for the fact that I installed as admin from start, and my exact thoughts on the matter as described by above post. I already had the game and just re-bought it because gog.com is actually offering the games with a wrapper/patches/hacks to make them work on newer systems. The tearing is not thaaat important even if it's not very pretty, if I could at least get the movies to work in that "-window" mode I'd be happy I guess :) They should definitely remove the compatibility with Win 7 64-bit because it is misleading.
NOX INSTALLER DOES NOTHING DRIVERS
I absolutely don't want to go too far back in case of drivers since my other games work quite nicely.Īny other ideas? It does work (not very good, though) in 16bit windowed mode without movies and quite heavy screentearing. Actually I am running on latest drivers, I have some other recent drivers but it's the same. I may have to ask for money back :(ĭimadyn: Ah thanks for taking the time to post some more hints, running the installer as an admin is something I didn't try - great idea! :) Unfortunately it doesn't help. I am not super computer savy so I need someone to fix it so i don't have to tinker.
NOX INSTALLER DOES NOTHING FREE
I also expected a working version, issue free with purchase. I am also having identical problems with Nox.
NOX INSTALLER DOES NOTHING HOW TO
It means that portals such as gog.com are not to be trusted and this only harms retro gaming.Īnyway, if anyone has an idea on how to fix this please post. People will see this as nothing else than a rip-off. Guys, I really like your gog project, being a fan of CD Project for quite some time and all but if you do not have any idea on how to get the old games running on newer systems or how to build a proper wrapper then don't try to sell them. Furthermore, as soon as you open a menu ingame the framerate seems to go up/interface animations are too slow. It is possible to run the game with "-window" at the shortcut and 16bit colour depth, BUT that means NO VIDEOS AT ALL as they will not play in windowed mode and you get horrible tearing, there is no way to have vsync when playing in a window or windowed.
NOX INSTALLER DOES NOTHING WINDOWS 7
Gog advertised this as being combatible to Windows 7 (32 & 64 bit), so far it seems that this is not true.

I installed and started the game from the shortcut and the intro video is just black, then a flickering/black version of the Nox logo/splashscreen comes up and then it hangs. The game wasn't expensive and download/installation went quite well but it's not working as intended. I already have the original game and it's quite difficult to get it to run properly so I thought "finally, a way to play this again". Dimadyn: Hello there, I recently bought Nox from gog.com and it's not working on Windows 7 64-bit as described.
